Did You Know
The J.M. Smucker Company as we know it today actually began life as a cider company. Ohio resident Jerome Monroe Smucker opened a mill in 1897 to press cider from the fruit of trees planted by American icon John Chapman, or "Johnny Appleseed" as he is probably better known!
Smucker prgressed from cider to cider apple butter and, over time, the Smucker name came to be associated with quality fruit products, first in the Ohio region and then nationally across America.
Today, Smucker's is a name attached to jams, jellies, ice cream toppings, syrups, peanut butter and more, all still made to the same high standards with only the best ingredients used.
