Fritos - corn chips since 1930
Fritos were invented in the 1930s by Elmer Doolin (who later invented Cheetos!).
He was, legend has it, obsessed with making a corn snack that wouldn't go stale too quickly. He found a local man who deep-fried corn snacks made from an extrusion of masa, bought the recipe from him and perfected it in his own kitchen with help from his mother!
Fritos hit the market in 1932 and have become a firm favourite with Americans ever since.
Please Note: Due to the time it takes to ship products from the USA, this product may be close to or slightly past its best taste date. In our experience, this has never impaired the flavour or the snack in any way.
